Mixed Media Monday – Size Matters

This month my challenge on Mixed Media Monday – Monthly is to create a piece of art on a size outside your comfort zone.  This is by far the largest collage painting I’ve ever done.   It is done on a stretched canvas 100 x 75 cms or 40 x 30 inches, which seemed huge to me.  It is mainly done in acrylics with computer generated collage images, and with lots of things for texture, including molding paste, tissue paper, mediums and a gauze over the image of the baby. This was a huge undertaking for me, it took the entire month of December, with me doing at least something on it each day, apart from a few days off over Christmas.  I’m not sure how many canvases of this size I’d want to do, but it was certainly a challenge.
